i volunteered our house for thanksgiving. the main reason being- i didn't want my kids to destroy my moms house.
heres how we did it....
TURKEY- stuffed it w/ 6 oranges and put a honey spice mix on top. i put it in a turkey bag then in my roaster oven. DELICIOUSLY MOIST and simple.
stuffing, spuds, pumpkin pie, appetizers, egg nog, rolls- fresh and easy 50% off clearance, already prepared. love simplicity.
traditional family recipes passed down from generations- assigned to all the guests.

don't think i'm a slacker....

its a lot of work to wash all my pretty china and not have any little girls break it while constantly bugging me for a tea party.
AND get a house in presentable condition and KEEP it that way for the day.
my husbands super organized and good at that kind of stuff- so it went fairly smoothly

I forgot to mention a few things tonight. Thank you to Eric for the paper {we did get Thursday's...Robby brought it in and stashed it under a chair}; thanks again for the coats; I'm sorry I told you the wheat berries look like cat barf in that picture because they really are delicious. When will mine be done? And, I have lots of Mason jars.
