Turkey trot 2008-
first of all, let me explain the outfit.
shorts -they have the built in underwear and they aren't so short that you see all my thigh glory, like most running shorts.
socks- i know they are gray but they are the nice wicking wool kind and feel good when you run.
shoes- new, cool. thanks mom.
shirt- standard issue mi amigos turkey trot shirt,on top of another shirt. it got really hot.
friend- emily. her family drove me home b/c eric had to get thanksgiving dinner all ready while i was.....quote from eric...."chasing some turkey all morning".

I did ok. the clock said 57 min but i started late so i think it was more like 54 for the 6.1 miles.
i have been on this raw food healthy kick(NO SODA) for the last month or so.
before the race i had one of those 8 hour shots then i had some highly caffeinated racing beans. not the best idea.
it was either those or actually running 6 miles for the second time in my whole life that made me feel incredibly sick the last mile.
now don't think i slowed down at all b/c of that. i honestly kicked my own butt.
the thing about running is
ITS ALWAYS GOING TO SUCK.
no matter how good you get.... you'll still want to get better.
you have to keep trying to go faster meaning you'r always going to have to get to the point of gasping for air, keeling over to get your "personal best".
don't think i'm going to quit. i'm going to up my mileage a little even because....
as much as it sucks...
IT ALLOWS ME TO EAT! i'm to old to do the desperate housewives diet (you know, not eating)
