obsession- grocery shopping. silly, i know. but i really am obsessed.
i go to the grocery store everyday. sometimes twice a day. here's the bottom of the pantry, tops full of every kind of cereal you can think of. elsies closet....full too. the poor kid has no room for her clothes. fresh and easy is a almost daily stop. i spend only $20 so i can use my $5 off coupon($15). thats 25% off your grocery bill! then if you buy everything on sale....smoking deal. b/c of this store i have tons of organic food. and i'm always stocked with fruits and vegis.
those yogurt drinks- i have 30 4 packs. you can freeze them and put them in the kids lunches. they were 50 cents a 4 pack. thats why you have to go fairly often, you never know what you'll find. (garage freezer, fridge is full too but not clean enough to post.)

i love trying new foods. i never pay full price. in order to do that you have to know when and where to shop.

couponsense.com shows you the best way to use coupons to get stuff CHEAP.
on my nightly store run i use coupons and i either rollerblade or cycle to the store. it get some more exercise too. (house freezer)
i probably spend about $90 a week for EVERYTHING. diapers too. but i have a TON of food. not just bare necessities. whenever eric opens the fridge he says- enough with the grocery shopping!
but i can't stop. if i miss a day i feel like there is good food i missed out on.
its great for when kids friends come over b/c i feed them all the cheap stuff.
then i don't mind them eating the food.
frys-check the organic section for clearance food. check the produce, sometimes the party trays are on clearance. bakery stuff is on sale at night. double coupons.
bashas-dairy gets marked down. at night, donuts are only $1.99. i usually just use coupons here. doubles coupons
albertsons- mine marks down lots of bakery stuff. doesn't double coupons but will take competitors. so you can use your fresh and easy coupons!.
safeway- don't go here much but they double and have some nice high-end food.
cvs-gives you extra care bucks on purchases. you then use those ecb to buy items that offer more ecb. combine this w/ coupons and you get free stuff all the time.
fresh and easy- if you hate coupons, i think this is the way to go. if your super nice to the old guy he'll hook you up w/ lots of $5 off $20 coupons.
walmart- I HATE IT. i only go if i need gram crackers, lemon shine, or a bunch of different things i can't get at one place. really i only have to go 3 or 4 times a year- thank heavens.(sorry, thats sure to offend)

I couldn't agree more about hating WalMart. I hate that store more than any other store (for a variety of reasons). Wow, Sarah that's pretty impressive- you are officially the grocery store queen. I'm going to take your tips and use them. Thanks for sharing!

P.S. I think your year's supply of food is done, right?

I hate wal mart too but I still go.
Do you ever go to Costco?
I haven't been in forever.
I really like supertarget but it's not usually as cheap. You are good to do all the coupons, I can't stand checking prices and such.
I have steered clear of couponsense because it seems it's mostly processed food, or cookies and cereal type of food.
You would die if you saw my pantry and fridge, I probably have a tenth (or less) than what you have. I need to get going on food storage. I have no garage freezer either. Do you rotate all your freezer stuff or make sure to get to it, cause I would forget about stuff.

couponsense is good for cvs and price comparisons. remember i get free papers, so it makes sense for me to try. i get a lot of cereal, crackers, lunch stuff for the kids w/ coupons, canned goods, baby goods- stuff like that.
i seriously can't go to costco w/o spending $100 so i try to avoid it.
i do ok in the rotating but not great. usually i have ice cream, dairy, vegis, froze pizzas(for eric). so i buy all my meat fresh and try to eat it that day or the next.
i TOTALLY don't have a year supply. my kids can go through a box of cereal in 2 or 3 days. i probably have a few months. but i'm trying....

Count me in as the Wal-mart hater!! I only go there to buy stuff for mutual when i have to turn in the receipt because i feel guilty for spending the wards money at bashas... And I am a Fresh and Easy addict too. I have my own shopping bag and everything and im good at those $5 coupons.

I'm anti Walmart too, especially for groceries unless it's unavoidable. I don't feel so bad about hording food after reading your post. I always justify food storage.

wow.

i hate walmart too, but alas, i find myself there often simply for convenience. i'd go elsewhere if i wasn't so lazy.

Well at least you will be set when you have teenagers. You won't be able to keep the kitchen stocked and your husband will be asking you what there is to eat...lol
