day trip.

We took the
scenic route. 40 miles on dirt roads, lots of switchbacks.
thankfully all the kids fell asleep.Erics luckily getting over his fear of mountains- coming to AZ from flat
Wisconsin was a bit of a adjustment. He was pretty freaked out driving on the "cliffs" we have here.

Roosevelt dam.
my kids don't pose well.

It was a STEEP hike up to the ruins in the side of the mt. A lot of seniors were there cheering us on.

The ruins have been there for thousands of years. Its a great mystery why the Indians left this home in the rocks.

There were a few rooms and you could see the smoke on the walls from the Indians fires.
It wasn't really that big but Trakes learning about Arizona history so we figured it was a good educational experience.

Geez, you're good parents. The most my kids get is a "day trip" to the grocery store and dry cleaners.
WOW!! You have been super busy and it all looks so fun. Kent always complains that our friends are such boring homebodies...we need to hang out w/ you guys!! And thanks for the priceline idea...I LOVE it!!!
