Fathers Day- steak and egg burrito from filibertos, that i got the night before. lame- i know. BUT the kids were gone and i let him sleep in. erics been quite sad though, about his sorry fathers day. so we did dinner last night for him- only a few weeks late.
now many of you are probably thinking- thats not that special.... dinner at the table with spaghetti, peas, garlic bread, salad and smoothies??
but it is...for me. see we usually eat at the island on paper plates. and dinner is always prepped in less than 10 min. everyone cleans up in 5 min. how ca you blame me- i have to squeeze in all the quality time i can!
eric said- this is nice, this is how my mom cooked dinner every night but she had dessert too. my dad would just come home to a nice dinner all ready for him. then he'd watch tv and relax while she cleaned up. i just laughed(it was supposed to be fathers day, remember)
didn't make me feel bad AT ALL.
it took a good hour to get everything ready. halfway through elsie was wanting to be held so bad- i put her in the backpack. she was still crying so i finally just put her in her room.
dinner was on my fancy china and glasses- which of course grace spilled.
besides that it was a nice meal but elsie wasn't there- she was sleeping! that made it a ton easier.
how long did it take to clean up- another hour.
if you stress about making dinner, you should lower your standards.
to prevent drugs and promote family togetherness...they say you just have to eat as a family .
not stress yourself out about having the perfect meal.
i'd probably gain a lot of weight if i ate like that everynight anyways.
oh and b/c eric says i never post anything about him...
eric is such a great husband, he works so hard for us(up at 3am every morning until 5 at night-he drinks a lot of diet coke). he's super supportive of my crazy life. and has no issues putting the kids to bed or watching them all day.
he's a good guy.
room cleaned-kitchen(you wouldn't know today)
outing-ocean blue- new frozen yogurt place by mt. side (a little pricey)
kids learned to cook-fruit salad and smoothies (i think it counts)
