warning:this post may be offensive people are funny, especially first time moms. they'll say "your amazing-i don't know how you do it all. THEN they say well what do you do with your children when your working so much, and how old is your baby? slam...thanks for the compliment but not really because i'm such a neglectful mom. i TOTALLY used to be like that. I'd spend all day thinking about how my kids were going to be so much smarter than everyone elses.
i put trake in suzuki violin lessons when he was 3. we spent 4 lessons learning how to hold the bow- $25 a lesson. i asked the teacher, if i start him now or when hes 6 will he be all that better when he's 10? shes says, probably not and you'll save $4,000. good thing i asked.
baby signing makes a mom so proud. ...showing everyone how they can sign "more" and "milk" and "cracker". i loved showing off trakes "birdie" sign. most of the time nobody else could even recognize them. after awhile you think, hmmm we don't even know anyone deaf.
little kids pick up a second language so much easier. so you try teaching them spanish. (at least i didn't attempt french- like i can even afford to go to france). after a few flash card sessions I realized english is a fairly challenging language.
especially when you have a husband from Wisconsin constantly messing them up with things like "beg" instead of "bag" or "stop negging me" instead of "nag" he finally stopped calling a drinking fountain a "bubbler"

when my first 2 were 3 they knew their articles of faith. it took a LOTS of repetition to teach them that. you know how long it takes a 3 year to forget all that repetition? about a week.

so you moms that sit at swim lessons telling your kids to swim harder because little johnny is beating them- relax. your kids probably better at soccer or dance. their probably cuter too......there i go feeding the monster.

don't worry about my kids they'll bounce back from all my neglect. i take them on vacation for a week after my intense 2 weeks of lessons. you can't neglect kids on vacation- they are always there, right there....no escape.

why i teach swim lessons (these are the truthful reasons not the try to get clients reasons)

-kids would be at my house trying to swim regardless- so i might as well make $

-if 30 people came to your house everyday, you'd keep it clean.

-it keeps me off ebay.

-adult interaction-kinda

- makes me appreciate my kids, they aren't near as loud as a 2 year old in cold water.

Funny post. I like it when people tell it like it is. I take some flack now and then for being a working mom, but I'm pretty sure he'll turn out just fine.

Sarah! You're awesome! Seriously - people are kidding themselves when they make their blog "super perfect". Don't they know that we can see through that? Love how you keep it real. I figure if people want to judge you, let them. They have nothing else better to do!
BYW, PLEASE get Kaitlyn to start swimming again! I am so sad about this!!!!!

Hey from one working mom to another, I think people need to mind their own business. For crying out loud you are working from home. =)
