I must say the pool slide is really cool but little big, so I ordered the above one too, for the small fries

Laid up Gracie w/ play-doh creations

Well we got our new pool slide up and broke it in- Grace feel off and broke her leg in 2 places. Friday night she was on the steps and some how fell backwards from the top, Trake was right under her but wasn't feeling super hero enough to catch her. Trake ran in and told us she was crying and crying, we brought her inside and she had bumped her head and her leg was all scratched up. We kept her in our bed b/c that whole- watch them for concussions thing. Then she slept till 10 Sat. morning, shes usually up at 7am. We checked if she could wiggle her toes and she had good range of motion but she wouldn't stand on it. We figured she sprained it somehow so we took her to the dr Saturday afternoon(love the phoenix childrens hospital on southern and higley). The dr did all the range of motion stuff and thought Grace might be dramatic and wanted me to try and get her to walk. Grace wanted nothing to do w/ that and told the dr to "get out of here, i don't like you! They did some x-rays and her femur was fractured in 2 places right above her knee and near the top. Poor girl shes in a splint cast thing now and then I have to go to the orthopedic surgeon next week for the real cast. The dr couldn't tell me much but I know I'm going to need a wheelchair. The cast goes all the way up to her crotch too so its quite hard to get her to the bathroom. This would probably be a good time for a kid to NOT be potty trained! Luckily she loves sitting around. Shes playing all sorts of games, watching shows. We pimped out this recliner for her with a pink canopy thing over the top and pillows all over. Shes getting quite spoiled. We're actually quite lucky that this is the first broken bone the kids have ever had. With the trampoline and the crazy stunts my kids try and pull off. Hopefully it'll just be 6 weeks and she'll be all better. Shes pretty tough- the only time she really cried was when we tried to get her to stand up or move her to fast. I just watched extreme home makeover w/ the kid with cerebal palsy that the mom had to carry up and down the stairs to go to the bathroom and he was like 8. It puts things in perspective- this really isn't so bad.

That is soooooo sad! I was just thinking what an AWESOME new slide, then I read the rest. What a bummer. I'm glad it happened before summer and swimming. You are going to have a VERY busy 6 weeks...I don't know how you do it all.
