Our Kitchen Remodel...COMPLETE!
It only took 2 years but its just about done. Eric did the backsplash this last weekend. I don't know if you can picture it but the kitchen was where the dining table is and there were all these old school soffits with plant shelves and flouresant lights. We had a butcher block counter top and all the cabinets were falling apart. So we (meaning Eric and whatever guys he could sucker in to coming over, my dad mostly) dug under the foundation to move all the plumbing to the new island. They rebuild the walls in the dining area so we'd have a little art niche. The other side where pic one is, we had a wall and a window seat. So we knocked down the wall to make the kitchen bigger and rebuilt it into the living room (last pic). Eric installed all the cabinets. We went from 3 lights to about 15 so, we hired that out to a electrician.
It turned out pretty good, Eric only shot a nail through his finger once and dropped running drill into his crotch! Our next project is the master bath. There was CARPET in the whole bathroom area! Who does that?? We got so frustrated with it that we ripped it out but now its just concrete. Halfway done projects seem to motivate Eric to move a little faster too. To bad hes got that dang job getting in the way all the time!! He's working at Scottsdale Fashion Square now on a big expansion. Its the big trendy mall in AZ, so he comes home an tells me all the new fashions. I'm still not convinced hes young enough to pull off the boat shoes Troy wears in High School Musical.
