HEELYS!
The gym I work at has these Heely parties. The kids love it because they can ride around the basketball court and not worry about cracks and whatnot. A couple months ago I helped out teaching it and the director thought I was cheesy enough to just run them on my own. So one Saturday a month we do these parties with about 25 kids, they get pizza and do fun games. I figured if I was going to be the Heely teacher I HAD to have Heelys. So I got some cool "SHIMMER" ones. Eric said, "Am I spending $60 for you to break your arm again?" (I broke it rollerblading when Trake was 18 months and Brynly 3 months). Its hard! It took me awhile to get but super fun. The kids in the class get so excited to see if I learned any new tricks, I've biffed it a few times and they think its HILARIOUS! (I'm pretty dramatic on the way down.) I had to learn how to lead with alternating feet because my inner thigh on the lead leg, the first class, was killing me! So now I'm a pro. I don't think I could handle the roller derby type stuff, but Heelys are good. I know a lady who does the roller derby and they are vicious! I think its a mid-life crisis thing, they dress up and have these derbys twice a month or so. What ever keeps you motivated I guess. If you don't know me very well I tend to come up with random thoughts. Eric always asks me how I come up with some thought and when I relate back to him the whole thought process it makes sense. But I won't straight out do that here, so hopefully its entertaining! Sarah
