i was surfing around on youtube for yoga ropes that you hook to the wall and do tricks on. i found a guy that does yoga on a slackline!
its the line that rock climbers use to go between mts and whatnot. when its snowy or rainy climbers would string them between trees and climb all over them. The guy trains surfers, snowboarders, skiers- sports where you need balance, by developing a yoga program ON THE ROPES! i had to try this out.....
first we found a rope in the garage and just tied it to the trees. this is a meditative position, you have to REALLY focus so you don't fall.
this is something you'd do w/ yoga ropes, it helps support you in a backbend.- i just hooked them onto the ring things on the playground.
me getting crazy.
4 year old in training.
you wouldn't believe how messed up my priorities are-i had so many things i needed to do today. i chose to do THIS......

i had so much fun the first day i wanted to try it for real.
  • i got up at 5:30am and watched a bunch of youtube videos on slack line (theres some cool stuff).
  • then i packed up ALL 4 kids at 7am, before school, and went to home depot to buy all the essentials. my kids were so excited b/c i've been talking about it non-stop.
  • it took a hour or so to set it up b/c my 9 year old didn't remember any knots he supposed to know from scouts. (stayed home sick- lucky kid)
  • i had to youtube learn all those climbing knots.
  • i had it in the back yard but i kept falling- HARD and was getting pretty scratched up so we moved it over the grass in the front yard.

i really spent a good hour+ doing this today- i can only take a few steps but i can do all kinds of yoga tricks holding on to the broom.

ITS A AWESOME WORKOUT! i was seriously shaking when i was done.

i'm leaving it up till the HOA comes and gets me, come over and try it out- fun stuff!

Awesome! Aren't you afraid it will break? I can't wait for you to hang one from your roof or tree and do vertical yoga positions. Now that would be cool. hee hee JK.
I love that you do all this! Where does your amazement stop?

Haha I love it. I wouldn't think that would be a good workout, but I trust you! I wish I were in town so I could stop by and see you perform in your front yard...

the carribeaners hold 200 pds each and i have 2 on each side. the rope holds 700 pounds - so i should be all good there. I AM worried about my palm trees- they are malnourished and a little wiggly! iAM going to keep going higher, quarte life crisis and all..
