Lots of pictures....

i'm slowly redoing elsies room, for brynly. for christmas.
this is a fireplace mantel. i got it for $60 bucks last june at pottery barn online.
normally $250.
its been sitting in our room for a year cuz eric keeps saying he's going to redo the firplace so it can go there.
ummm....our bathroom is still concrete.
to redo our fireplace...lots of work.
its going to be a headboard of sorts in brynlys room.

this was my moms dresser when she was a kid, then mine back in the day.
it's been many colors over the years.
going for dark brown, almost black.

its gold now.
when eric and i were first married- we painted it gold. on purpose.
we also painted our bedroom a dark green and faux ragged it with gold on top.
we thought it was cool- but it wasn't....

still has the original hardware. i'll replace that.

you are wondering wondering where my kids were when i was doing this, probably watching tv..*gasp*
... nope elsie sat here for a good 30 min.
the other kids were swimming, eric was watching.
didn't last though. i didn't get to finish it.(ext post will be finished dresser)

room cleaned- elsies- but not really b/c i had to take all the clothes out of the drawers to do the dresser.
outing- i've been slacking here. they don't want to go anywhere. good, its really hot out.
i'm just going to say our pool- w/ me actually paying attention to them , not telling them to get out of the way of my students.
taught them to cook- pumpkin pie, invisible kool-aid(smart kids, i know). used NO sugar in either. stevia and a little splenda, no one could tell!
